American Secrets is a photographic series rooted in the realities of rural life in the western United States. These images come from towns tucked far from interstates and population centers – places where the signs of disinvestment, economic decline, and social isolation are visible at every turn. In these communities, wealth disparity isn’t an abstract statistic; it’s in the boarded-up windows, the rusted-out vehicles, the traces of life abandoned in homes long since emptied. This series is not a spectacle of poverty, nor a romanticized look at “small-town America.”
